South East Asia

If you are looking for endless opportunities for adventure, self-discovery, and cultural immersion, the South East Asia corner has you covered!

I was in my mid-twenties when I finally embraced an adventure I was so long planning for. This adventure was solo trip through central Southeast Asia that terrified me just as much as it excited me! It was the dream of what I imagined myself capable of being – adventurous and self-reliant – that pushed this plan into motion. And, I must admit, this trip was the challenge that I needed to get out of my comfort zone and get to know the world with my own senses.

South East Asia is full of places where ancient traditions blend seamlessly with modernity, and where the natural beauty is nothing short of breathtaking. In this trip, I hiked through the high mountain forests in the north of Thailand, I cruised the Mekong from Chiang Rai to Luang Prabang, I traveled on a chicken bus 9h long trip (the only tourist on the vehicle) to cross the border between Laos and Vietnam, I did a 3-week-long motobike trip through the border of China and Vietnam, I got lost after the sunset in Ankor Wat in Cambodia and I made lots of friends only speaking with gestures, smiles and good will (and sometimes google translate when there was reception).

And Oh!, I should have done it earlier!

Since those early times, I have backpacked, lived, and worked in SEA, got to meet Lachlan in Cambodia  in 2018 (2nd time in the Country, this tima as a resident) and visited many more places of the world together ever since!

Asia, particularly the Southeast corner, will always have a special place in my heart since it was THE turning point of my life – the trip that changed everything I would not be where I am now, writing to you, if it was not for this trip.
